One of the many sights of soil erosions that we noted along the way.
View from the mountain top. Too bad! It was just too misty to share anything with you, guys....

We were also greeted with encouraging remarks from fellows climbers who were on their way down telling us that the mountain top is just 300 metres away. Of course, they are just motivating us to peservere. Well, they just omitted another '0' at the back of the figures they quoted.
Well, this was a waterfall that we saw on our way up. It was quite some distance away which i snapped with zooming from my camera.
Well, rest places were aplenty along the way. My kids took a rest on the bench. Right now, they still looked energetic. Wait till you see later how they smiled.

There are many spots where you will find water flowing freely from the mountain. This is one of them.

Welcome to Tasek's blog and true enough, we finally get to arrange our first activity. Remember, we mooted the idea to organise activities among the staffs of Tasek Maju Group during the farewell lunch for Stanley, our project executive who had left for greener pasture. Although the crowd wasn't that large, we are still happy and contented that we managed to gather more than 15 persons to participate in our maiden activity, the Gunung Pulai's climb on 9th July 2008. We have six members in this 'expedition', myself (Long), YC Wong, Eva, Mui Cheng, Yau Long and Soh Khim. We brought along our family members and maid too as in the case of Mui Cheng. You will know why later. Well, we started the journey from home, as early as 6.30 am if I could remember.

At the foothill, we reached a kampong house where car park facilities are available at the price of RM1. We only stopped for toilet break there as Mui Cheng said she has surprises installed for us later.
So we continue to drive for a kilometre uphill, reaching a open car park area which is just next to a waterfall (a mini one la..). This is where we parked our car, said Mui Cheng. As there has been ocassion of vehicles being broken in before, Mui Cheng's husband (sorry ah....can't remember his name la...) volunteered to stay behind with the maid while we all embarked on our 'conquer' of Gunung Pulai.
Here we go....that's what YC Wong loudly proclaimed when we set off the journey up the Gunung. But YC Wong was quick to quipp that actually we are not climbing the Gunung Pulai la... We are merely walking up the Gunung, to be precise!!!
