Invitation Notice for Gunung Lambak's climb on 8-2-09

Hey guys, we are planning our third outing this coming Thaipusam holiday on 8-2-09 which happens to be a sunday.

We are certainly more adventurous this time, our target has been upgraded to Gunung Lambak in Kluang after we had successfully conquered Gunung Pulai just 6 months ago.

Just in case you 'pancit' after this climb, not to worry...guys. You still have one more day to rest on 9-2-09 as it is a replacement public holiday.

This 'expedition' will be headed by YC Wong and we look forward to your participations. Come join us lah......an opportunity not to be missed.

Confirm your participation with Mui Cheng as soon as possible....

Bowling at Danga City Mall @ 9-1-09

Our second outing was held recently at Danga City Mall when the nine of us organised two rounds of bowling. Looks at the poses...like professionals, isn't it?

Sure these guys are having a good times!!

Followed by a simple dinner after the bowling just outside the mall. Looking forward to our next activities.

Gunung Pulai Climb @ 9-7-08 (part 6)

Yau Long and son having fun near the water fall area.

A beautiful sight which I snapped while exploring the waterway after the sumptous breakfast.

Another nice view to share with you, guys.
Another wonderful sight and the last photo in this instalment of our Gunung Pulai's expedition. To enjoy more of our activity, do watch up for our next activity.

Gunung Pulai's Climb @ 9-7-08 (part 5)

Perhaps, the most interesting part of our 'expedition' was this. When we eventually reached the car park area, we were greeted with this. Thanks to Mui Cheng's husband!! He had got all these lined up for us upon our succesful conquer of Gunung Pulai. We didn't know that he had set up a 'warong'. Wow, too bad you are unable to visualize how nice the foods were especially after a hard day 'work' during the climb or rather, walk. We actually pot-luck that day, enjoyed so much of the fruits, mee goreng, breads, fried eggs, tibbits and of course, desserts, coffee and tea that we brought along.

Soh Khim enjoying her mee goreng and Mui Cheng, looking fresh even after the climb. Must be the qi gong she mastered la...

Gunung Pulai's Climb @ 9-7-08 (part 4)

Resting at mountain top just outside the secured area.

One of the many sights of soil erosions that we noted along the way.

View from the mountain top. Too bad! It was just too misty to share anything with you, guys....

Perhaps, this may interests you. Very natural...Too bad, you can't listen to the chippings of the birds, cries of the monkeys....

Gunung Pulai Climb @ 9-7-08 (part 3)

As it had rained the night before, it was rather misty in the morning of our climb. This is how it looked on our way up.

Nice posing, isn't it? We were not far away from the top of the mountain from here.

The first telecommunication tower that we came accross just before reaching the mountain top. This is just one of the three towers that you can see from Skudai area.

This tower is right at the top. We were told by the security personnel that photo taking is prohibited here. Well too bad, the shot already taken...ha,ha,ha...

Gunung Pulai's Climb @ 9-7-08 (part 2)

Along the way uphill, we came across various sights which was very inspiring. We were given the understanding that the way up from where we parked our vehicles was 4 kms. With another 4 kms down, I supposed we should be able to burn quite some bits of our calories...ha..ha..

We were also greeted with encouraging remarks from fellows climbers who were on their way down telling us that the mountain top is just 300 metres away. Of course, they are just motivating us to peservere. Well, they just omitted another '0' at the back of the figures they quoted.

Well, this was a waterfall that we saw on our way up. It was quite some distance away which i snapped with zooming from my camera.

Well, rest places were aplenty along the way. My kids took a rest on the bench. Right now, they still looked energetic. Wait till you see later how they smiled.

Me and Eva having some relaxed moments.

There are many spots where you will find water flowing freely from the mountain. This is one of them.

Gunung Pulai Climb @ 9-7-08 (part 1)

Welcome to Tasek's blog and true enough, we finally get to arrange our first activity. Remember, we mooted the idea to organise activities among the staffs of Tasek Maju Group during the farewell lunch for Stanley, our project executive who had left for greener pasture. Although the crowd wasn't that large, we are still happy and contented that we managed to gather more than 15 persons to participate in our maiden activity, the Gunung Pulai's climb on 9th July 2008. We have six members in this 'expedition', myself (Long), YC Wong, Eva, Mui Cheng, Yau Long and Soh Khim. We brought along our family members and maid too as in the case of Mui Cheng. You will know why later. Well, we started the journey from home, as early as 6.30 am if I could remember.
At the foothill, we reached a kampong house where car park facilities are available at the price of RM1. We only stopped for toilet break there as Mui Cheng said she has surprises installed for us later.

So we continue to drive for a kilometre uphill, reaching a open car park area which is just next to a waterfall (a mini one la..). This is where we parked our car, said Mui Cheng. As there has been ocassion of vehicles being broken in before, Mui Cheng's husband (sorry ah....can't remember his name la...) volunteered to stay behind with the maid while we all embarked on our 'conquer' of Gunung Pulai.

Here we go....that's what YC Wong loudly proclaimed when we set off the journey up the Gunung. But YC Wong was quick to quipp that actually we are not climbing the Gunung Pulai la... We are merely walking up the Gunung, to be precise!!!
